Dogsbody

Dog and master
Do a dance
No dainty dancers do,
A formal, stately
Yard parade,
A lawn and garden
Promenade.
They seem a team,
As dancers do,
But which is which
And who is who?
The alpha male's
Slow plie,
Prompts a fine
Tip-toe ballet,
A pas de doo
That's just for two.
The leader leads,
The lesser heeds
Like Easter's child,
So joy-beguiled,
On bended knee
By bush and tree,
And seeks
With scoop
Or plastic bag
The master's
Precious
Easter egg.
